WHO WE ARE
Improving and saving the lives of people affected by breast cancer is the guiding vision for Breast Cancer Trials.
We are a world-leading breast cancer research charity founded in 1978, that conducts the highest quality clinical trials that aims to save lives and improve treatments.
Our researchers support patients with breast cancer every day and our aim is to develop the best possible treatments for every individual, so they have the greatest chance of long-term cure.
Our success lies in the commitment and collaboration between our 835 researchers; 109 participating institutions in Australia and New Zealand; more than 16,830 clinical trial participants; and 38,000 supporters.
Our priority research areas include:
- stopping breast cancer from occurring in the first place;
- curing more people with targeted treatment at the time of their first diagnosis to prevent any chance of recurrence of their disease;
- helping patients with metastatic breast cancer to live longer with good quality of life; and
- protecting quality of life by reducing the side effects of treatment.
